Terms of Use
Brindo for iPhone and iPad · Version 1 · 24 October 2026
Brindo helps you choose your photos; it never chooses for you. Shared albums are for the photos of an occasion, encrypted on your phone so we can’t see them. Share only what you’re allowed to share, and nothing illegal or sexual. Anyone can report a photo, and we act on reports.
This page holds the Terms of Use, the Community Rules, our child safety standard and information for authorities.
Terms of Use
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Brindo is an app for choosing your photos, provided by Edoardo Vaira, in Italy (“we”). These terms cover the app on your iPhone or iPad, shared albums with friends over the internet, and the web page guests use to join a shared album without the app. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we handle and why.
2. Accepting these terms and minimum age
You accept these terms when you create or join a shared album, in the app or on its web page.
You must be at least 13 years old to use shared albums, or older if the law where you live requires it for you to agree to an online service on your own. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before you join a shared album with people you don’t know.
3. The app on your phone
- Your photos stay in your Apple Photos library. Brindo never chooses for you.
- Remove marks a photo as not kept; it never deletes anything. Photos are deleted only when you confirm Apple’s own deletion prompt, and iOS keeps them in Recently Deleted for a while. Keep a backup of photos that matter.
- We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Brindo on Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store’s rules allow. You may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it.
4. Shared albums
- A shared album holds the photos its members add. Each phone encrypts photos, names, the album’s name and its picture before they leave it, with a key that travels only in the invitation. Our server stores files it cannot open.
- Anyone with the invitation can join while the host allows joining. The host can close joining, change the invitation, remove people and photos, and end the album.
- Photos stay on our server for a limited time (see the Privacy Policy), then are deleted. Save the ones you want before then.
- Photos others have already received cannot be taken back. Removing a person or a photo stops further copies only.
- A host is responsible for who they invite and for keeping the invitation private.
5. Your photos and what you share
- You keep all rights to your photos. You give us only the permission needed to store your encrypted files and pass them to the members of the album you added them to, for as long as the album lasts.
- By adding a photo, you confirm that you’re allowed to share it and that sharing it doesn’t break the law or these terms, including the Community Rules.
- You’re responsible for what you share. We don’t check photos before they’re shared, and we can’t see them.
6. Reports, blocking and what we can see
- Anyone in an album can report a photo or a person, and block anyone. When you report a photo, your phone sends that photo to us readable, so we can look at it. It’s the only way we ever see a photo.
- People who aren’t in the album, including someone who appears in a photo, can write to reports@getbrindo.com to ask for removal. Because photos are encrypted, we can act only on a photo we can identify: one reported from inside the album, or an album named in the request.
- We act on reports as quickly as we can. Requests to remove intimate images shared without consent are handled within 48 hours of a valid request.
7. What we may do
If you break these terms or the law, or put someone at risk, we may, without notice where the law allows:
- remove photos or people from an album, or end the album;
- stop the phone that made an album from making more;
- report you to the police or other authorities.
When we remove something, we tell the person who shared it in the app or on the album’s page: which rule it broke, that it followed a report, and that a person decided. If you think we got it wrong, tell us (Settings → Feedback in the app, or write to reports@getbrindo.com) and we’ll look again. You can also take the decision to court where you live. We may also suspend shared albums for everyone to protect the service, for example during an attack.
8. Cooperation with authorities
We follow the law. We answer valid legal requests from authorities and preserve information when the law requires it. We report child sexual abuse material and threats to someone’s life or safety to the competent authorities. What we hold, and how authorities can ask, is in Information for authorities.
9. Leaving and ending
You can stop at any time: leave an album, or delete the app. Deleting the app does not delete photos you already shared, which stay with the album’s members. We may change or stop shared albums, giving reasonable notice in the app when we can.
10. Paid features
Brindo is free today. If we sell something later, Apple handles payment, refunds and Restore Purchases. What you get, and any conditions, are shown before you pay.
11. Our responsibility
- We work hard to keep Brindo reliable and your photos safe, but we can’t promise it will always work without errors or that an album’s photos will reach everyone before it ends.
- We’re not responsible for what other people share, or for what they do with photos you shared with them.
- Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live, or our responsibility for death or personal injury, fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or anything else the law doesn’t let us exclude.
12. Changes to these terms
We’ll tell you in the app before an important change takes effect. A changed version is asked for again the next time you create or join a shared album. If you don’t agree, you can stop using shared albums.
13. Law and courts
Italian law applies. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law where you live, and you can take a dispute to the courts there.
14. If Brindo changes hands, and if a part doesn’t hold
- We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over Brindo, for example one we set up to run it. Your rights under these terms stay the same, and we’ll tell you in the app.
- If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
15. The App Store
These terms are between you and Edoardo Vaira, not Apple.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Brindo.
- If the app doesn’t conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, to the extent the law allows.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for handling claims about the app, including product liability, failure to meet legal requirements, consumer protection and privacy laws, and intellectual-property claims.
- You confirm that you’re not in a country subject to a US Government embargo and are not on a US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Community Rules
Shared albums are for the photos of an occasion: a birthday, a weekend, a wedding, a night out. Treat other people’s photos and faces as you’d want yours treated.
Never share, in any shared album:
- Anything that sexualises a child. Zero tolerance: we remove the person and report them to the police.
- Intimate or sexual images of someone without their consent, or threats to share them.
- Pornography or sexually explicit content.
- Anything selling or offering drugs, weapons or other illegal goods or services.
- Threats, incitement to violence, or praise of terrorism.
- Harassment, bullying or hate against people for who they are.
- Photos taken secretly in private places (bathrooms, changing rooms, bedrooms), or photos shared to expose someone’s private information.
- Other people’s work you have no right to share.
- Malware, spam, or attempts to break into albums, the server or other people’s phones.
Don’t make false or abusive reports.
If you’re the host, invite people you’re happy to be responsible for. Keep the invitation off public posts, and remove what breaks these rules.
What happens: a photo can be removed, a person removed, an album ended, the phone that made an album barred from making more, and illegal content reported to the police.
If someone is in immediate danger, call the emergency number first: 112 in Europe, 911 in the US.
Child safety standard
Brindo has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation.
- Reporting: in any album, report the photo or the person with A child may be at risk, or write to reports@getbrindo.com. Never send us the material itself by email, and don’t save or forward it.
- What we do:
- We keep the reported photo on our server, restricted, and stop its normal deletion.
- We remove the person and their photos, and end the album if it was made for this.
- If they made the album, we stop their phone from making more.
- We report to the Polizia Postale (Italy’s national centre against online child abuse, CNCPO) and to NCMEC in the United States, and give them what we hold.
- Prevention: albums are invitation-only, there’s no way to search for albums or people, there are no private messages, and every album ends.
- Contact for child-safety matters: reports@getbrindo.com.
Information for authorities
We answer requests from law enforcement and courts that come with valid legal process. In an emergency involving a risk of death or serious injury, we answer at once.
What we hold, and for how long:
| Information | Do we have it? |
|---|---|
| Photos, names, album names and album pictures | Encrypted on the phone; we can’t read them |
| A reported photo | Readable, until the report is handled and 90 days after, unless kept for a legal reason |
| Who reported what, the reason and an optional note | Yes, with the report |
| Random IDs for each album and member | While the album lives |
| Each device’s App Attest key and push-notification token | While the album lives |
| File sizes and the times photos were added | While the album lives |
| IP addresses | Not stored |
| Names, phone numbers, emails or Apple Account details | No. Push tokens and App Attest keys are issued by Apple, which may hold the account behind them |
Album records are deleted within a day of the album ending. Our host’s database keeps a restorable history for 30 more days. A legal hold keeps an album’s files and records past its end, up to 400 days at a time, renewable.
How to ask: write to reports@getbrindo.com from an official address, naming the album or member ID if you have it (they appear in invitation links and in photos reported to us). EU authorities may send orders under Articles 9 and 10 of the Digital Services Act. On a preservation request we put a legal hold on the album for 90 days while the formal request follows, and renew it as the order says.
